Cyberpunk 2077 PC requirements & build guide

Ray tracing changes the hardware equation — compare non-ray-traced targets first.

What PC do you need for Cyberpunk 2077?

Cyberpunk 2077 has unusually useful publisher guidance: some graphics presets list an intended resolution and frame rate. That is better evidence than a generic minimum/recommended list. SpecVora shows those published targets separately from its own unbenchmarked complete-build suggestions.

Ray tracing is OFF in these estimates. Ray tracing and path tracing significantly increase GPU demands.

Minimum vs recommended PC specs

These entries reflect the curated publisher/store data. Requirements can change after updates; follow the primary source link to confirm before spending money.

RTX 2060 SUPER / RX 5700 XT / Arc A770
16 GB
70 GB SSD
1080p, High, 60 FPS; no ray tracing

Published graphics presets

The original publisher has supplied these more specific examples. They are separate from SpecVora's estimated parts lists.

Low · 1080p · 30 FPS

Core i7-6700 / Ryzen 5 1600
GTX 1060 6GB / RX 580 8GB / Arc A380
12 GB

Non-ray-tracing low preset.

High · 1080p · 60 FPS

Core i7-12700 / Ryzen 7 7800X3D
RTX 2060 SUPER / RX 5700 XT / Arc A770
16 GB

Non-ray-tracing high preset.

Ultra · 4K · 60 FPS

Core i9-12900 / Ryzen 9 7900X
RTX 3080 / RX 7900 XTX
20 GB

Non-ray-tracing Ultra at native 4K, using developer-published recommendations.

Choosing the right components

The largest trap when shopping for this game is treating “Ultra” as a single consistent performance goal. Native resolution, upscaling, ray tracing, path tracing and frame generation can produce very different results. The SpecVora estimator assumes ray tracing is off, so do not use its total to budget for a path-traced build.

For a complete PC you also need a compatible motherboard, RAM of the right type, SSD, power supply, cooler, case and operating system. Even a sensible component tier is not a verified product-by-product compatibility list; confirm sockets, BIOS, clearances and connectors for exact parts.

Practical starting point: Decide whether ray tracing is essential before choosing your GPU. If it is, look for independent benchmarks of your exact settings rather than relying on a generic tier.

Common questions

Does the estimator include ray tracing?

No. The illustrative configurations assume ray tracing and path tracing are off.

Does DLSS or FSR affect performance?

Yes. Upscaling settings can materially change frame rates and image quality, so compare benchmarks using the same settings.

Is 4K Ultra the same as 4K Ultra with path tracing?

No. Path tracing is substantially more demanding; the non-ray-traced recommendations are not suitable evidence of path-traced performance.

How we calculate the build price

SpecVora applies illustrative UK component reference amounts to model-based GPU and CPU tiers for your chosen resolution, graphics preset and FPS target. The user’s FPS selection is a goal, not a claim that the system has achieved that frame rate. Converted prices are not local retailer offers and do not include exact availability, taxes or shipping.
